What to Do in Thailand
Now you may be wondering what you can do in Thailand? Let’s start with Bangkok: the capital city of Thailand. Bangkok is a city where you can see old foundations mixed in with modern styles and ideas all in the same place.
For instance, you can spend the morning visiting and paying your respects to their many beautiful temples each rich with its own great and ancient history; in the afternoon you can take a stroll to taste many of Thailand’s street foods all over but especially in Chinatown; and then finally you can enjoy experiencing the nightlife visiting one of their most famous places: Khao San Road.
There, many foreigners from all around the world gather and celebrate what this great city has to offer.
If you’ve already experienced all that you would like in Bangkok and would like to explore other areas we recommend heading to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market which is only a 2-hour car ride SouthWest of the city. There you can taste the local foods and see how they still live and maintain their traditions along the river which they have learned through generations.
Beaches, Botanical Garden & Museums
Now if you wanted to relax and get some sun then you should head SouthEast to the beautiful beaches of Pattaya which is also only 2 hours away by car. Pattaya is an absolute must while visiting Thailand because of its very beautiful beaches and many inspiring places such as Nong Nooch Botanical Garden and The Sanctuary of Truth Museum. One being one of Thailand’s largest beautiful garden and the other being covered entirely of wooden sculptures.

Burma-Thai Railway – Kanchanaburi
Another option that we highly recommend for you to visit is Kanchanaburi, which is well known historically with its connections concerning how the Japanese planned to build a railway between Thailand and Burma during World War II. You can take the Line Railway for a ride and see its vast countryside and historical meaning.
Kanchanaburi is not only famous for its World War II history but also for its beauty and green nature as well. You can also be adventurous and go rafting or kayaking through the Kwai River if that is more your style.
Hikes, Boat Rides & Water Activities
Further South Thailand also has many famous islands to explore such as Phuket, Krabi, and Samui to name a few. You can also choose to visit these shores while going on daily hikes, boat rides, or water activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, or swimming day trips.
Venturing to the Northern region of Thailand you will find its ancient cities constructed with their infamous Thai-styled architecture as in Chiang Mai. To get there you can take a sleeper train and view the large countryside enjoying a panoramic view the entire way there.
Another city that you shouldn’t miss if you visit the Northern region of Thailand is Chiang Rai. Chaing Rai is not far away from Chaing Mai only about 191.9 km. which is 3 hours by car. There you will visit Wat Rong Khun, a white temple that was designed and built by one of Thailand’s greatest artists: Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat.
